Hi Brandon!

I was wondering what it's like for you to be going down to Antarctica the second time? How are things going? How are you feeling? What do you think will be the same and what will be different?

Looking forward to following your expedition :)

Hi Janet! Thanks for the note! I couldn't be more excited! After being gone 5 weeks last time, and over the holidays, I will admit I got a little homesick. As soon as I got home, I started asking myself, how do I get back?! The answer for me was to go back to school and find some funding in the field of polar science. I was lucky enough to get hired as a GRA at the University of Kansas working for the Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets. Here I was connected with Dr. Leigh Stearns who was recently awarded a grant to do the field work on Byrd Glacier.
I'm very excited to being going back with the hind-site now to be able to enjoy exploring around McMurdo a little bit more now that I understand how things work. I plan on visiting a lot of the buildings in town that I never had the chance to see last time! I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit nervous about how much colder it's going to be this time around, especially on the glacier itself!
