Hi Bernard--Great question with a long answer. There are many different jobs represented on the ship. Even in the science, party there are a variety of different jobs from analyzing data, studying organisms and chemicals that live on the bottom in the mud and in the water, observing marine mammals and bird, analyzing satellite data... I will try and feature different scientists throughout the journals as we get on our way. In the Coast Guard, the jobs as numerous also--- science specialists, pilots (of ships), cooks, machinists, divers... The ship is like a floating hotel/city so almost all of the jobs needed to run a hotel are needed here, too.
