Hi Uncle Gary, Today my science class watched a pretty cool You-Tube video. The temperature was cold enough that when a person threw a bucket of water out their back door, it turned ot snow/ice before it hit the ground. Since my science class follows your expeditions we were wondering: Do the conditions there allow this to be done? If so...would you do a little shout out to Wichita and video tape yourself doing it. Everyone here would love it if you are able to do so!

Thanks, Megan B.

Dear Megan,
I stood outside and shouted "WICHITA" but I doubt if you could hear me over the wind today. About you question of water turning to snow. There are people here in camp who have been here when the temperatures were so cold that a cup of hot water thrown into the air turned into a vapor cloud. It would have to be around -40F or colder. We won't get that cold around here in the middle of summer.
Hey, you have been having days that are colder than we are.
Shouting out to you,
Uncle Gary
