How fast summer has seemed to go by, it was only 40 degrees at my house in Fairbanks this morning!

I remember you saying you had wanted to create some lessons based on the snow to take home to your classroom. Did the recent weather give you any good ideas?!

Christmas in July sounds like fun; i can't wait to see the journal post.

Kristin Cry (not ready for winter yet...)

Catherine Campbell

Hi Kristin,
Hopefully we are keeping our cold snowy weather north of the Brooks Range or at least north of you in Fairbanks.  As I write this ,it is still snowing, although the tundra right around Toolik is no longer covered. The hills and ridges, from what I can see of them through the clouds and fog are snowy.
I'm afraid I won't be here for the gala Christmas in July celebration.  It will be Friday night (the 25th, of course) and I will be leaving Toolik at 6:00  that morning heading back to Fairbanks, then home.
I must admit I was not psychologicaly ready for winter either - certainly not in July- luckily when I get back to Michigan it will be HOT and HUMID!
 Take care,
Cathy
