what is difference between our simple goldfish and the arctic fish?

Paula Dell

Hi Tyler,Nice to hear from you. Was that your question about "our" fish? Be careful to differentiate between Arctic and Antarctic. Arctic refers to the northern polar region, Antarctic is the southern polar region - which is where I am. A goldfish could never survive in the cold waters down here. Antarctic fish are specially adapted to live in these frigid waters, including antifreeze proteins in their blood. The icefishes is different from the other Antarctic fish in that they have no hemoglobin.
