what are the differences between our fish and the arctic fish

Paula Dell

Hi,I'm not exactly sure what is meant by "our" fish, but I'll assume you mean the kind of fishes found where you are which is North America I'm guessing. Also, Arctic refers to North Pole. I am in the southern part of the world - Antarctica. All fish except the Antarctic Icefishes are red-blooded. Meaning they have hemoglobin in their blood. The icefishes have no hemoglobin so their blood is white, almost transparent. They don't have red blood cells. Their hearts are white too. We are studying to see how this affects them. Stay tuned!!
