Dear Mrs.Dell

Hi I am Regan from Mr.Woods science class, period 2 in 6th grade. I was wondering what kind of fish are you looking at? Do those fish effect the water in Antarctica? Also can they stand the freezing waters? Hope you can write back, good luck and have fun!

                                 Thank You,
                               Regan Gabel

   P.S Please be safe

Hi Regan,Thanks for the be safe warnings. We have already had some delays and unexpected events. I'm in Punta Arenas, Chile now. We are studying icefishes. They have no hemoglobin - the protein in your blood that carries oxygen. Because of that their blood is clear. They have other anti-freeze proteins in their blood so that it doesn't freeze. Pretty cool. I'll be talking about them more in my journal. Stay tuned.
