I logged into the webinar exactly 4 hours after it occured. No wonder nobody was there :(
Just wondering if you could ask some of the researchers that were on the Healy last year, to compare last year's observations with this years. Just wondering about- a. the thickness and quantity of the ice b. the genera and quantity of ice algae c. the timing of the peak of the algae bloom d. the content of the benthos (more nutrients, presence of microfauna) e. the presence of megafauna (birds and mammals.
Also, any bird experts with you this year? I had the good fortune of seeing a short tailed albatross on Midway Island back in January. They are pretty rare birds. Did the ornithologists have a chance to see short tailed or Laysan or black footed albatross?
Lastly, are you making sorbet this year? What flavor?
