hello mr mcmahon, wondering if you made it to your destination? i had a couple of questions that i was wondering will you be able to answer for me! has the weather been a little warmer than usual in the area you are researching/ also i wanted to know since ive been doing a little research on my own and i wanted to know is the ozone disappearing like it is antarctica? Are ya'll mearsuring the greenhouse gasses? will you all be looking at how fast or how slow the ice is melting?

Thanks for all the questions. We arrived to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland this afternoon and head to Summit camp (on the ice sheet) tomorrow morning. It is hard to tell if it is a little warmer than usual with just one day. Scientists look at the average weather conditions over a long time period when talking about climate change. This web site by the Environmental Protection Agency may be of interest to you: http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/kids/On our expedition, we are not measuring greenhouse gases or determining how fast or slow the ice is melting, bu there are other scientists working on that.
I am glad you brought up the question about ozone. I believe that scientists at Summit camp are currently launching balloons to measure the ozone levels. I will devote an entire journal entry to how they do this and what they have discovered so far.
