Dear mrs Prevenas,

Hi my name is Joesph Romero. I am a student of Mr. Beckendorf which i think you might know him. In one of your journals i was reading said you were doing a lab that had to do with sea pressure. Did the lab work? What do you think of an estimate sea level is there?

Thank you Joseph Romero

Hi Joseph!
Yes I did an experiment with sea pressure. I asked my students to decorate foam balls and foam bowls. Then I asked them what they thought would happen to them if I placed them in a bag to go down to the bottom of the ocean. I had to wait on the ship until last week, but we finally got to the really deep stuff.

We put them in a mesh bag and down they went. Three and a half hours later, they came back up. Most of the volume in the foam was squished out by the pressure. For those students who hypothesized that the foam would be smaller, the experiment did what they thought it would.

We will be putting some more cups down in the deep. The students at St. Paul decorated some foam cups for us to take down. I'll be mailing them back when I get back to Dutch.

I don't know what you are asking for, with your last question. Could you reword it so that I can either answer it or find someone else who can?

Thank you for your patience!
