Rob,

Thanks for the info about the Bering strait. The distance across it certainly could be crossed. Let me ask a couple more questions about the marine wildlife. Are you close to St paul's island? That is where most of the Alaskan crab fishing takes place. What evidence is there that global warming is effecting the crabbing industry?

Also , are the killer whales in the water around the area where you are located? Are the whles being effected by global warming?

I saw your mom at chruch tonight but didnt get to speak to her. She was so nice to call and check on me after my surgery. i'm doing really god right now.

Tomorrow is June 21st, the longest day of sunlight of the year. Will you have 23 plus hours of sunlight there/

Thanks for answering all my questions. I can tell you are really enjoying your work. Take care.

Rickey,I don't think I am near Paul's Is. and don't know about the crabbing industry specifically but the entire Alaskan fishery industry is fairly healthy. The Alaskan natural resouces people are very careful to monitor quotas by the fishermen and the fishermen are cooperative because they know it is in their best interest to have healthy marine populations. The two often work side by side to insure healthy populations.
We currently have a full 24 hours of sunlight. It is energizing.
Orcas do live in the arctic but I have not seen any. The ice is still at the shore, which makes it difficult to see life in the ocean, except for seals.
