When I lived in Michigan, I used to leave my beverages outside to get and stay cold. How long can you leave certain beverages outside before they freeze?

Well, I know that my water bottle will start to form ice in 30-60 minutes when it's about 15 degrees out. Common beverages that are mostly water would begin to freeze in roughly the same time frame. Hydraulic fluid, while not something that you would drink, does become very viscous (thick) as the temperature goes down. One of our hydraulic power systems has a pre-heater and circulation pump that must be run for 15 to 30 minutes before it can be used at full power on a hoist winch.
