Jackie,

It was great to get the updates. What an amazing place. The photos you posted made me feel like I was there! Okay, okay, only warmer, and not in a tent. It is certainly not a place for the faint of heart.  I hope it gets easier to tolerate the winds.

I am interested in the drill. Is it very different from what you have used before?

Can't wait for your next post.

Hi Mel,
The drill is like nothing I have used before.  It was created for Dave's drilling project and is being tested this season.  I will have more on that in the upcoming logs.  It looks like more of a drill press with modifications.  Everything in Antarctica is hard! Tanner, the driller, and the team have to constantly think and solve problems to determine what will work when they hit obstacles while drilling.
