PHOTO CHALLENGE - WEEK FOUR!

    We have a historic challenge!

This week we had the privilege of visiting two historic huts: Ernest Shackleton's Hut at Cape Royds and Robert Falcon Scott's Hut ('Terra Nova') at Cape Evans. Both places were literally frozen in time, with science equipment on the tables, food in the 'pantries' and clothing hung in the huts to dry. We were literally transported back in time! And, with the 100th anniversary of Scott's tragic journey to the South Pole upon us - it was a sobering moment.

As if this experience wasn't momentous enough, when we entered Scott's hut ('Terra Nova') we were greeting by his grandson, Falcon Scott. Falcon and several other men from the Antarctic Heritage Trust have been conserving the hut for the past several months. What an amazing stroke of luck! So, of course, I had to capture this on film.

So, in honor of this momentous occasion, this week's photo challenge will be about these two HISTORIC HUTS - and is titled as such.

But before we get to the new PIC'S - you can still vote for the first three challenges:
