We left Ilulissat to Kangerlussauq in a bank of fog but within minutes the landscape unfolded below us. My entire curriculum unfolded before my eyes! How I wish I could bring my students along with me; first hand experience is so powerful and motivating.

    As we left the coastline and the fog behind, the bedrock of Greenland was exposed.

    The lakes and streams vary in color due to whether or not they were formed from glacial melt or snow melt. The coloring is based not only on the amount of sediment deposited from glacial melt, but from the size of the particle and how color is reflected.

    We will be taking a connecting flight to Manitoosaq this afternoon and spending the afternoon/evening repacking the bags to be ready to go into base camp 1 tomorrow.
