Home and recovered, mostly anyway! Take away the struggle with my sleep schedule and all is well. It has been nearly two weeks since I arrived back in Wisconsin. I was met with open arms from an excited and loving family. My students were eager to have me back as well and being back in the classroom was a welcome treat after being gone for so long. There was no snow when I landed at MKE, but thankfully, I didn't have to wait too long for its arrival. After seeing it everyday for 5+ weeks, I was missing it and the views from the ice.

    trail in WI
This trail in WI is a bit different than those in Antarctica, both snow covered though!

I have been busy putting up holiday decorations and Christmas trees (yes, trees, plural – we have 13 this year!), attending my daughters' holiday concerts, correcting papers, catching up on mail and enjoying long walks with my husband. Life is returning to normal despite the large load of work that hangs over my head. Two weeks until break and perhaps I will find the time to catch up on all that needs attention.

    Tree cutting day
My family waited for me to get home to cut down the "real" Christmas Tree! It was a beautiful day!

Morning hike after the snow fall!
A long morning hike after the snow fall, almost like being in Antarctica, but with more trees!

    Choir concert
My daughter's choir concert ended with some caroling. This is a small group that posed for a photo. Hunter is all the way to the right!

    Another morning hike.
Another hike with my loving husband on a crisp morning in WI.

I have been reflecting much on my experience and sharing stories and thoughts with my students, family and friends over the last couple of weeks. I have been trying to put together a movie with all of the major highlights from my trip but I find myself struggling with the format and number of pics to include. I have put in many hours, starting and restarting. I am hesitant to post it here today, but, I feel it has been more than enough time. I am no production specialist and quite frankly, am not a tech guru of any kind. I hope you can look past the poor quality of the video and see the pure joy that this experience has brought into my life.

I am so thankful to have had this opportunity. It has been a dream come true. I will forever hang onto the memories and the beautiful friendships. Happy holidays.
