One of the first things you have to do before going out into the field is complete Arctic Field Training.

Kevin Pettway of the Polar Field Service gave us a day long workshop about what dangers we may face while working.

SloMo learning how to use the radios and satellite phone.

We learn how to avoid problems and deal with them if anything goes wrong.

    Team Lifiting
We learned how to lift someone as a team in case they need to be moved.

This can be anything from problems with wildlife (there are polar bears around,) hypothermia, or even heat exhaustion! Yes, people can get overheated in the Arctic. That is why it is so important to not overdo it, take off layers if you need to, and drink plenty of water.

    Warming Becca
We have to warm Becca as quick as possible.

    Thanks Kevin!
