NSTA - means "No Science Teachers Asleep"

While my students were sleeping in every day of spring break, I was up at 6:30AM every morning battling against other teachers to grab a coveted seat in yet another NSTA session.

    Science teachers doing science! Wild!

NSTA - the National Science Teachers Association - hosted their national conference in Indianapolis this year. Boasting big names, like Bill Nye and Mayim Bialik, and slightly smaller names, like Dinah Zike, it was a very educational way for a teacher to spend her spring break.

    PolarTRECers Stick Together

The PolarTREC orientation was months and months ago, but it felt like nothing had changed when I saw Tim Spuck, Lindsey Knippenberg, and Sarah Crowley. It was great to catch up and talk about all things polar!

    The Brickyard

Although I was running from session room to session room, I did spend one day checking out the sights of Indy. From the yummy Weber Grill restaurant to the Indianapolis State Museum to the scary climb up the Soldiers and Sailors Monument tower, I got to enjoy some of the unique things about Indy.

The best part of the trip was visiting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where we got to race around the track at a zippy 20 miles per hour on a bus. By the way the Speedway's nickname is the "Brickyard," so named because before the pavement, the cars raced on 2.5 miles of bricks!

    At the races!
