We have been going strong at the Alaska Marine Science Symposium in Anchorage, Alaska. http://www.alaskamarinescience.org/

All students arrived safely by late Sunday, January 20 evening. We hit the ground running on Monday and most of day was spent at a workshop and opening event for the conference.

My students will be sharing some of the journals during the week.

Meet Shireen

My name is Shireen, I am in 7th grade and I am a SoTre, Student of a Teacher Researcher Experience. I live in Florida and right now I am in Anchorage, Alaska for the Alaska Marine Symposium. I arrived on Saturday, January 19, 2013 afternoon and as soon as I walked outside I was welcomed to Alaska by a blanket of white snow everywhere.

Although I was very tired, I was still anxious to play outside in the snow. And after dinner I did just that. My dad and I walked through the downtown area in search of empty park areas in which to play in the snow. On Sunday, January 20, my dad and I were on our way to breakfast when we realized it was SNOWING! I couldn’t believe we were welcomed to Alaska with a white sensation. After everyone arrived to Anchorage, Alaska we had snowball fights, we made snow angels and had dinner.

Bird of the Day It is such a great pleasure to many many Ravens flying around town and right outside of my hotel room window!
