Mirage in your picture?

Hi George! It is great following you! I noticed in your picture with the seal blobs from a distance, it seemed like the mountains looked funny--was that a mirage? I think I remember seeing something similar when I was there and thought I'd see if you had the same experience. I hope you are having fun and keep posting great journals!

Hi Michelle,

How are you doing? Thanks so much for your question. Yes, it is a mirage. It turns out that it is a common phenomena observed in cold temperatures. It is called Fata Morgana and a very interesting illusion. I am having a blast. You were right - it is a life changing experience.

I hope things are going well with you. Have a great Thanksgiving break and hopefully we will get to meet at NSTA or other science conference!
