What's it like?

Hi Katie.

Welcome back to the US! Just wondering what it has been like for you since you got back to Texas. Were your students all done with school? Did you get to see them? Was it strange to see so much light?

Looking forward to hearing about your return.

Janet

4.  What species of fish have you collected in your tows, and new species so far?   ivan

5.  Are some of the rocks you found volcanic, and how do rocks grow rings to show their age?  Annaly

6.  How long does it take for the styrofoam to shrink, is there a specific measurement?   Kris

Ms. Thomas's class again

This is Emily with even more questions! We're really curious.

 1. What types of coral were taken up?

 2. Why did the cups shrink?

Thank you for answering all our questions. We appreciate it.

 Email back ASAP.

      Sincerely,

  Ms. Thomas's 4th grade class

P.S. The baseball team is coming back! They beat the Aggies ( all 3 games). Horns played great. Now they are playing in the Big 12 tournament. Go Horns!!!!

Trawls

Hi Katie, thanks for responding to our questions. We are entering the last week of school and it is very busy. I plan to watch the webinar with at least one class. That is the last day of science, so I'm not sure how much control they will have :)
I have a question about the trawls- what is it that broke them off? I assume it was just the netting? Did they get snagged? How big or long are they?
Lastly, what kind of fish were in the photograph you recently posted?
So you are heading toward Elephant Island! Fabulous! Will you be close enough to get a visual? Please post a photograph!!
Stay warm, Lollie
