I am particularly interested in using image 4 from 19th November 2004 showing pinnacle mats on the bottom of Lake Hoare.

That is so cool that you have a robot, SCUBA Dooba Doo, that will go to Antarctica. I hope the "swimming" tests work out.
Best of luck!

Robots
Submitted by Janet Warburton on June 3, 2008 - 11:15am.Hi Robin and Robotic Team!
What a great project and thanks for posting the details in your journals! It's pretty fun watching it come together. Maybe you can take some video of it when you do the testing in the ocean and post as a journal!
Thanks to the team for also responding to Ask the Team questions. I love it. Maybe they can also write a quick note in your journal about their thoughts in building a robot that will be used in Antarctica.
Cheers and I look forward to seeing the final product!

Robot Building
Submitted by Kristin Timm on May 30, 2008 - 4:48pm.Wow!
The robot building looks like an absolute blast! Are you are your students trying to finish the robot this school year, or will you be working with the same group to complete the project next year before your expedition?
Looking forward to continued progress reports and hearing about the success. You guys will have to come up with a clever acronym for your robot... :)

Robin & Cameo, What are your robot's missions?
Submitted by Guest on May 29, 2008 - 7:09am.Robin & Cameo,
I am so excited about your ROV projects that I have talked to the robotics team at my school and they are interested in building one for my expedition on the Oden. I have an underwater video camera on a 150 foot tether and the team thinks they can add propellers so that we can fly it under the sea ice.
My questions for you and your classes are:
1. What do you want your robot to do? Do you have a set of goals or experiments?
2. Are you planning to fly the robot in real time using your monitor?
3. What size/weight limits are you putting on the project to make it portable?
4. Will the robot be able to carry/do anything or will it be for video only?

Journaling

Do you think it is easier or harder making journals for PolarTREC versus your past TEA experience?
Your journals are great! Good job!

What are you looking forward to while in Antarctica?
Submitted by Guest on March 5, 2008 - 6:42am.Hello Ms. Ellwood and Dr. Doran!
I know your trip to Antarctica is coming up in the fall of 2008 and you have done some research in the Dry Valleys before. What are both looking forward to on this upcoming trip? Anything you are not particularly looking forward to?
Ms. Adams at RJH
