Overview

Students can learn about sea ice—what it is, how it is formed, why it's important, what it impacts, how scientists study it, and what people can do to help slow its melt.

Objective

Students will be able to identify various characteristics of sea ice, how animals and people depend on it, and what scientists learn by studying it.

Preparation

The quiz can be used as a pre- or post-test to gauge student understanding of sea ice.

Description

Teachers can use the PowerPoint presentation to present various information about sea ice. The presentation is geared toward middle-school or lower-high school students. The interactive quiz allows students to test their own knowledge of the various concepts presented in the presentation.
