The average temperature in Antarctica varies - the South Pole is the coldest. I am here during the austral summer and the temperatures could get as high as 20 degrees F. At Happy Camping School I was told that the temperature at the South Pole was -35 degrees F.
During the winter -30 F is not uncommon.
