Live from IPY!

Live from IPY! events, or 'webinars', use the Internet platform Wimba to allow shared simultaneous viewing of expedition images over the Internet while participants join the research team in real-time through a conference call. The Wimba platform includes other useful functions such as online chat and polling features. To take full advantage of a Live from IPY! webinar you will need either a telephone and Internet access or just the Internet with a microphone. If you do not have Internet access, you can simply join the conference call.

The webinars are archived online after the completion of the live session. Instructions on how to view an archived event are posted under the 'Archived Events' tab.

1. Event Information

8 July 2009 - Greenland Science Seminar on the polar science being conducted in Greenland.

This event is part of the Greenland Education Tour 09' and tour participants will be joining the seminar from Kangerlussauq, Greenland. The public is invited to join and learn more about the issues of Greenland. Speakers are lead scientists from all over the world -- Mary Albert, Shari Gearhard, Tom McGovern, Morten Rasch, Joel Harper, Ross Virginia, Gudfinna Adalgeirsdottier, Prasad Gogineni. An agenda will be posted on this website and distributed to those that register. The event is 2.5 hours in duration.

The seminar will start at 8:00 AM Alaska Daylight Time; 1600 UTC/GMT [9AM PDT, 10AM MDT, 11AM CDT, 12PM EDT].

Please register for one event. If you are interested in attending several events, you will need to submit a separate form for each event.
