This red marble was discovered just below the surface during our excavation. I immediately thought of some of the burial objects (rocks, beads, and carved bones) that we had found in burial sites up at Nuvuk. So many connections were made during our work, the students certainly took more away from this experience because of the work I had done this summer. I hope these projects continue.
