Hi Allan and Ute - As a teacher in a NASA Explorer School, I signed up to receive emails pertaining to NASA news. I found out that astronaut Don Pettit has joined the team looking for meteorites in Antarctica. I think the team is based at McMurdo. Will you have a chance to talk with them about their work?  Keep warm!! Sincerely, Laurie Sullivan in Arlington, Virginia.

I'm not sure if our paths will cross at McMurdo or not - I've dropped him a note to let him know we're underway but he might be out in the field when we arrive and we'll only be on the continent for a couple days.  It's a really exciting project he's working on and I hope that you'll be able to join in his webcast.  Don does some great science and has a real gift for connecting with kids.  Hope all is well in Virginia Laurie - I dropped your school a postcard from Chile yesterday - we'll see if it can find it's way before vacation!

HI Allan - Thanks for the information about Don. And THANKS for sending a postcard to Barrett. The students will be thrilled!I noticed that our Instructional Technology Coordinator (ITC) put a blurb about your expedition on our school webpage.  Check it out if you have a chance. It is in the News from School (middle section of the webpage).
