Hi Jim!

Hi Jim!

I just read your journal and loved it! I can't believe how expensive everything is there. Why did the grad student think the plants weren't photosynthesizing during the whole 24 hours of daylight? You mentioned something about radiation changing, but I didn't understand what you meant. It's a really cool finding and I'd love to learn more!

As for the word of the day, my guess is: "Where's the bathroom?"

Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading more journals!

Sincerely,
Michelle Brown

Daily Fact Temps

-40F is the same as -40C. I learned that when I was in Barrow because the wind chill reached -40. I also learned that the students get a snow day in Barrow when the air temp, not the wind chill, is -50F. They lost track of all of the snow days they had in 2008/09.
