Liz How fantastic. I was with the first Cubers to go to Alaska for training as they began the project. It has been such an experience to run into them and others of the project in other places of the world at conferences. Build those relationships this week. The people you are with are amazing educators. Your experience this week will have a huge impact on your teaching, your learning, and your experience. Watch the speeding on the ice though...it is really hard to stop even if there are no police in Antarctica.

Thanks! I thought I remembered you! I was one of the original IceCubers but at that time I never thought I'd be able to go to the South Pole. It's really exciting to have the opportunity now.I really enjoy meeting all the other teachers that are here, too. I'm looking forward to having those connections that you mention. It's so important to build up those networks.
And I'll be careful about not speeding on the ice. :)
