Lemming Birds
September 7, 2008 - 11:42am
Mrs. Eubanks,
On the question, "Guess why they cut off the Lemming birds feet?"
I guessed that the lemming birds had something in there feet and thats
why they cut them off, or they had bacteria and they send the feet back to a lab
and research on them?
Kasia Bytnar

Kasia,
I think you misunderstood. Lemmings are not birds, they are little rodents, like hamsters.
Great guess, but no that is not why they cut off their feet. They cut them off so that they (the scientists) know that they have already counted and measured that Lemming. Make sense?
Thanks Kasia,
From the Tropics,
Mrs. Eubanks
